The Carved Totem Side Table is an object of genuine ritual beauty. Its form — a single column widening at the base, topped with a small circular platform — draws from the ancient tradition of the totem: an object carved from a single material, intended to carry meaning, energy, and presence beyond its physical function.
Crafted from kiln-dried hardwood, the table's entire surface is covered in hand-chiselled diamond-pattern relief carving — a technique that requires patience, skill, and an intimate knowledge of the grain. Each facet of the pattern catches light at a slightly different angle, making the surface appear to shift and breathe as you move around it. The warm bronze-golden tone of the finished wood deepens this quality, giving the piece the appearance of something ancient and precious.
The Carved Totem functions as a side table, a display plinth, or simply as a sculptural object in its own right. It is the kind of piece that draws the eye and holds it.
