These never ending string of fairy ligths, has delicate shola flowers wrapped around each light... the shola flowers are hand made by artisans in rural Bengal. The shola artists are famous for making ornaments for Goddess Durga with sholapith, but being seasonal work, they have meagre source of income in other months. We are working closely with these artists to make different decor items so that they can sustain their livelihood and we in turn can help preserve the craft.
Sholapith or indian cork is dried milky white spongey plant matter that grows in eastern India. Shola is an eco-friendly, biodegradable, durable, and renewable resource.
The length of the string is 20 feet.
